This service pack is an update to Windows 7 and to Windows Server 2008 R2 that addresses customer and partner feedback. The RTM of SP1 is available for Free to everyone but validation is required in order to download it. If the direct download links don’t work or you just want to download the update in the official way, you’ll have to download the Windows 7 SP1 Convenience Rollup from Microsoft’s Update Catalog website. As promised before, Microsoft has now officially released Service Pack 1 Final (KB976932) for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2.
